Sharon Stone Hosts the Hotbed Gala

Superstar Sharon Stone returns to host the sixth annual Hotbed gala on June 10. Produced by the Drever Family Foundation, Hotbed is known for it’s theatrical production and live entertainment, with this year’s theme taking a journey back in time to the Far East, experiencing the wonders of Ancient China. Stone will be joined by Master of Ceremonies Todrick Hall and special guests Rosanna Arquette, Melanie Griffith, Carson Kressley, Gilles Marini and Tanya Tucker to raise money for Planet Hope.

Founded in 1993 by sisters Kelly and Sharon Stone, Planet Hope is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that provides outreach and educational resources to homeless, abused, and terminally ill children. Planet Hope programs include: Summer Camp, Food and Warmth Resources, and Hope for the Holidays.

“Hotbed is the most fun fundraiser there is… period,” said Stone.

For over 35 years Jan and Maxwell Drever and their seven children have given time and money to give young people access to education. The family has donated to schools, foundations and directly to families and students all over the world. The Drever Family Foundation raises awareness and funds for educational charities with its annual Hotbed event by giving emerging and established artists in various fields the unique opportunity to exhibit their work in a beautiful outdoor setting.

“As we approach the 6th annual Hotbed Gala, my family and I are incredibly proud of the tremendous success of the event. Hotbed has served as a vehicle to raise both awareness and hundreds of thousands of dollars for a variety of educational nonprofits for children in need. The Drever Family Foundation looks forward to our continued partnership with Planet Hope,” said Galen Drever.

Performance artists will be rousing the lantern-lit stage include lion and dragon dancers, contortionists, and Chinese yo-yo entertainers. The courtyard will be transformed into a Chinatown marketplace featuring a food truck and a floral fountain, hosting the silent auction with coveted items such as spa packages, Tina Turner’s high heels, the cast-signed script for the film Casino, Kiehl’s products and more. In addition, the contemporary art gallery returns with a curated selection of artists commissioned to express the Imperial Dynasty.

Guests will then be treated to a runway fashion show by Project Runway designer Jake Wall and his San Francisco-based brand JAKE. The Indochine Collection features 12 women’s looks and 12 men’s looks inspired by the animal signs of the Chinese Zodiac. The night’s events close out with the Patrón After Party, with music, dancing, and late-night snacks.
